Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about becoming an agent.
No! While many of our agents come to us already licensed, we welcome those who are new to the industry. We can guide you through the licensing process and have resources to help you get started. Once you're licensed, we'll fast-track your carrier appointments.
The timeline varies by state, but typically you can complete pre-licensing education in 1-2 weeks, schedule and pass your exam within another week, and receive your license 1-2 weeks after applying. Many people complete the entire process in 4-6 weeks.
We offer contracting for Life Insurance, Health Insurance (including ACA/Marketplace), Medicare (Supplements, Advantage, Part D), Annuities, and Final Expense. You can focus on one area or diversify across multiple product lines.
Windermere charges no sign-up fees, monthly fees, or platform fees. Your main costs are: pre-licensing education ($200-500), state exam fee ($50-100), license application fee ($50-200), and E&O insurance ($300-600/year).
We offer highly competitive street-level contracts depending on the carrier and product. For life products, as you grow your production, you may qualify for additional bonuses and higher commission tiers.
Absolutely. Our team will work with you to transfer your existing carrier contracts and book of business to Windermere. We handle the paperwork and carrier communication so the transition is as smooth as possible, with no disruption to your clients or renewal income.
We focus on providing the best contracts, technology, and support rather than selling leads. However, we do offer marketing resources, training on lead generation strategies, and can connect you with trusted lead vendors if desired.
New agents receive dedicated onboarding support, access to our training library, product certification assistance, a personal point of contact for questions, and 24/7 technical support. We're invested in your success from day one.
